The capital city of Andaman, Port Blair, is a famous stop for tourists on a getaway trip. It has also developed into a big city offering many things to see. We’ll hop on a trip to the tiny island of Chatham to see the Sawmill, an 1883 structure to fulfill the saw and timber demands during its time. Now, it’s Asia’s oldest and largest saw mill. We’ll also visit Samudrika Naval Maritime Museum that educates visitors on oceanic environment and houses a collection of shells, corals, and preserved colorful fishes that can be found around the islands. And finally, the Anthropological Museum is all about the natives of this island and the kind of lifestyle Paleolithic Islanders used to lead. From Port Blair, we’ll head to Havelock Island, the hidden gem of Port Blair famed for the diving spots and snorkeling activities. The underwater view is stunning and you might find yourself in dilemma to decide if that or the vast blue sea splashing against the sandy beach and the tranquil environment on the surface is better. After Radhanagar Beach, we’ll also visit the Elephant Beach Island which is the best spot for snorkeling for beginners. We’ll also visit the Kalapathar Beach, a gorgeous renowned shore famously referred to as the “finest” beach of Asia which has unique black rocks (kalapathar) and is located next to the Kalapathar Village. Out of the islands and back to the port, we’ll head to the Cellular Jail, an iconic landmark that signifies the hard fought freedom Indian won thanks to the sacrifices of independent activists.
